College football notebook: Toledo lands big home opponent

The Miami Hurricanes will play at Toledo in 2015 in what's sure to be the highest-profile home football game in Rockets history.  

The Hurricanes will play at Toledo on Sept. 5, 2015, and then play host to the Rockets in 2016.  

Florida State linebacker facing felony charges  

Florida State's Nigel Carr is facing suspension while authorities sort out a handful of charges against the junior linebacker, including two felony charges.  

The 20-year-old was arrested Sunday by Tallahassee police on two counts of auto burglary, criminal mischief, credit-card theft and fraud. The report also noted that Carr was arrested July 22 and charged with possession of marijuana.  

Coach Jimbo Fisher, in North Carolina for the Atlantic Coast Conference football media gathering, said the university's policy is to suspend athletes facing felony charges.  

NCAA plans to interview Georgia player  

   

The NCAA intends to interview one Georgia player as part of its probe into improper benefits given to athletes by agents.  

The NCAA is investigating possible rules violations at a party on Miami's South Beach in May.  

Georgia did not identify the player when releasing its statement about the interview. Receiver A.J. Green has been connected to the party in media reports.  

Tennessee to play Montana in 2011 opener  

Tennessee announced that it will open its 2011 season by playing host to Montana.  

Montana was runner-up in the Football Championship Subdivision in 2009.
